About the 802.3bt Standard
802.3bt uses a 4-pair ("4PPoE") power method, and has 2 power ratings:
- Type 3 - 60W max per port
- Type 4 - 100W max per port
4PPoE provides power using all four pairs of a twisted-pair cable, this enables higher power for applications. In addition, the IEEE PoE standards provide for signalling between the power sourcing equipment (PSE) and powered device (PD). This signalling allows a compatible device to be detected by the power source, and allows the device and source to negotiate the amount of power required or available.
The products listed below are 802.3bt-Type 3 (60W per port) compliant.
