This bundle contains all the parts needed for 1 link.
Operating in the 11 GHz band (licensed), the airFiber-11 builds on the innovations in airFiber-24 to enable aggregate speeds up to 1.3 Gbps (MIMO).
Features
- Complete Kit: Includes 2 x Radios, MIMO duplexers, and 37 dBi antennas with mounting (JRMC-900-10/11).
- ACMA Compliant: The antenna has been chosen as it has been ACMA approved (ACMA - RALI FX3 - Grade B).
- Fast: Up to 1.3 Gbps throughput.
Each Bundle Contains
- 2 x Ubiquiti AF-11 radios
- 4 x Ubiquiti AF-11 High Band duplexers (to support Full Duplexing)
- 2 x 37dBi Jirous antennas (JRMC-900-10/11) with heavy duty pole mount.
- 2 x Adaptor kits to fit the radio to the antenna. This includes RF jumper cables and weatherproof hood.

Antenna Compliance
The 11GHz spectrum is a licensed band regulated by the ACMA. Details of compliance requirements can be found in the ACMA publication "ACMA RALI: FX-3 Appendix 11" found here. When applying for a licence, you will be required the provide the Front to Back Ratio and the Cross Polarisation Discrimination. These can be found in the product datasheet, but are mentioned here for ease:
- XPD: ≥ 30 dB
- F/B: ≥62.5 dB
Range vs Speed in Australia
The table below is based on calculations using figures published by Ubiquiti.
Distance (km) | Aggregate Data Speed (Mbps) |
8 | 1300 |
10 | 1300 |
20 | 1100 |
30 | 1100 |
40 | 1100 |
50 | 800 |
100 | 550 |

Assuming:
- EIRP: 48 dBm (11 dBm radio conducted power + antenna gain)
- Antenna: 37 dBi
- Polarity: MIMO
- Channel Width: 56 MHz
- Link: Point to Point
- Line of Sight: Clear, including Fresnel zone

Compliance
The 11GHz spectrum is a licensed band regulated by the ACMA. Details of compliance requirements can be found in the ACMA publication "ACMA RALI: FX-3 Appendix 1" found here. We confirm that the airFiber 11x radio meets the conditions of this licence.
AF-11FX Radio Features
Advanced Engineering
Ubiquiti’s INVICTUS™ 2 custom silicon and proprietary radio architecture are designed specifically for long-distance, outdoor wireless applications, providing superior performance, long-range capability, and higher delivered throughput.
Power Source Options
Support for PoE or DC power gives you the flexibility to power the AF-11FX separately from Ethernet traffic.
Channel Configuration
This kit uses bonded (MIMO) channels. The AF-11FX also features different channel widths to suit your deployment needs, and you can independently configure TX and RX channel frequencies
Dual Polarity
2 Duplexers are supplied in each kit, supporting dual-polarity (MIMO). This is best described in this image:

Recommended Surge Protector
GbE POE Surge Protector
This in-line surge protector is suitable for use with the Ubiquiti airFiber.
From the airFiber User Guide:
|
Note: For added protection, we recommend installing two GigE PoE surge protectors. Install the first surge protector within one meter of the airFiber DATA port, and install the second surge protector at the ingress point of the location housing the wired network equipment. |
|
This surge protector is used in-line on a Cat5/Cat5e connection, and is used to help protect:
- ethernet interface damage in the event of nearby lightning storms, and
- building damage in the event of a direct lightning strike where a current surge flows down the ethernet cable.
