DC Power
Flexible DC power options.
- DC Inputs 1 & 2 are intended for nominal 48V DC input. See Compatible Products (below) for suitable power supplies.
- DC Input 3 will accept from 12 to 57 VDC. This can be used to directly connect a Solar Panel.

The built-in web interface provides extensive control & monitoring features, including:
- PoE (Power over Ethernet). Including Auto Voltage detection (see below), and day-of-week & hourly power control. (E.g. disable PoE on port 6 between 6pm and 8am every week day).
- Port Control, including rate limiting, flow control, trunking and mirroring.
- VLANs (Virtual LANs) including binding MAC addresses to VLAN IDs
- QoS (Quality of Service), including COS, DSCP, and DSCPCOS
- STP, MSTP, RSTP (Spanning Tree Protocol, Rapid STP, Multiple STP)
- SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) (
MIB files)
- LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol)
- ACLs (Access Control Lists)
- AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting), including RADIUS+ and 802.1x.
- SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol)
- GRMP (GARP Multicast Registration Protocol)
- EAPS & ERPS (Ethernet Automatic Protection Switching & Ethernet Ring Protection Switching). These are powerful 'ring' protocols that link 3 or more of these devices in a self-healing, fault-tolerant ring network, with sub 50 millisecond recovery times.

Auto PoE - Multiple Modes
The Auto-PoE technology built into this product uses intelligent sensing to determine the correct PoE voltage/power to apply:
- 48V
- 802.3bt : 60W, 4-pair POE (Ports 1 & 2 only)
- 802.3at+: 30W, 4-pair POE (Ports 1 & 2 only)
- 802.3at : 30W, 2-pair, Pins 1,2 (+) 3,6(-) (Ports 3 to 8 only)
- 802.3af : 15W, 2-pair, Pins 1,2 (+) 3,6(-) (Ports 3 to 8 only)
- 24V
- passive PoE on pins 4,5,7,8 (Ports 3 to 8 only)
- No PoE
The management software allows overrides of the above default behaviour.
Alarms
Alarm triggers can be internal (e.g. High temp, low voltage, ..) and/or external signals (e.g. high or low voltage). Once triggered, and alarm can be notified digitally (e.g. SNMP TRAPs and/or to a log file), and/or physically (e.g. closing a relay to sound an alarm).
Fast Loop
Three or more devices can be linked in a redundant, self-healing network loop, with sub 50 millisecond (typically 20 millisecond) recovery times in the event of a link failure. Both EAPS & ERPS ring protocols are available.
